Nathan Jones, Charlton Athletic’s manager, believes his team is performing admirably and should relish their trip to Cheltenham Town on Tuesday.
Jones, who lost his first game in charge, has now gone five games unbeaten as Charlton boss, helping the Addicks create a four-point advantage over relegation conte:nders Cheltenham, whom they face next.
The management anticipates a high-pressure environment inside the Completely-Suzuki Stadium, but emphasizes the importance of thriving under such conditions.
“We have to [thrive in that environment at Cheltenham], but it’s not just about me,” Jones remarked at a press conference.
“It’s what the whole club and the players have to thrive in as well.”
When asked about his team’s current performance, Charlton’s manager stated that they are doing quite well.
Jones believes that in order to move away from the drop zone, they must maintain and improve their performance.
“We look forward to every game now because we’re performing so well.
“We’ve got to keep that momentum going, keep picking up points and then get ourselves away from the danger zone.”
Cheltenham have their own form to boast about, having lost only once in their past five games while winning two – a statistic that will make Jones and his squad nervous.
