DONE DEAL : Swindon Town has announces the signing of another fantastic midfielder

Windon Town Women are delighted to announce the arrival of midfielder Hattie Jones from Forest Green Rovers.

The 26-year-old midfielder, who formerly led the Forest Green Rovers team, will attempt to offer her considerable experience and leadership to the Town Women moving ahead this season.

Jones is an impressive goal scorer, having scored eight goals in 18 games for Forest Green Rovers last season, where she met Richard Wood, the current Swindon Town Women’s manager.

Since signing Jones, Wood has stated, “I’m excited to get Hattie involved with the group where I’m sure she will contribute and help us improve as we look to get better as a team.”

“She is someone I know well from my time at Forest Green; she is currently the captain and possesses natural leadership abilities.

“She has a fantastic attitude and is a very nice person; she will fit right in with the team.

“She has played Division 1 soccer in the United States, so she has tremendous pedigree. She played exciting football, and she will bring increased competitiveness in the group, which is good.

“She has good experience, and I think it would be vital for us that she can bring her leadership qualities to the team as well.

“She has a fantastic track record of scoring goals from midfield, so it’s great to have another player who can help us in that area.

“I’m just really looking forward to Hattie being involved with the team.

Jones remarked after signing for Swindon: “As Forest Green’s captain, it was a significant step to go and look at

another team.

“I was fairly confident in my skills there; perhaps, some of the goals I scored there can be replicated here and have a beneficial influence.

“Rich was the assistant manager (at Forest Green Rovers), so we worked very closely for a year and a half and got

along incredibly well; I appreciate the type of coach he is. I look forward to working with him again.”
