JUST IN ; Pedro Neto now shares two areas of his game he wants to improve on

Neto has been Wanderers’ standout performer t:his season.

O’Neil has done excellent work with him in this regard, as he has with Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-chan.

Despite this, Neto believes he should be getting into the box more.

The Portuguese international is also looking to enhance his defensive abilities. In a recent interview with writer Pedro Pinto, he stated, “What I would like to improve the most is my defensive abilities. Sometimes I’m only halfway through understanding something, you know? But it takes time. It also depends on what the coach expects of me. I guess I’m lot better now.

“And then it’s going into the box. As a player who is used to, for example, coming to get a lot of the game, I am frequently a little far away. For example, I prefer to get the ball on my feet, so I may be a little far from the box.

“Imagine the ball is on the other side, and I come to retrieve it on this side, only to have to go all the way to the box. It is something I need to work on, and I will.

It’s impossible to picture Neto not becoming one of the world’s best players later in his career.
