Albion manager Carlos Corberan has pushed flying winger Mikey Johnston to keep pushing for more, as he stole the show for his loan club once more.
Corberan’s Baggies won 4-1 against Huddersfield yesterday, with the Celtic ace scoring twice to make it six goals in seven games, and the head coach encouraged the 24-year-old to look to Manchester City and England player Phil Foden as examples. After a tumultuous first half in West Yorkshire, Johnston scored his side’s equaliser, which was followed by goals from Kyle Bartley and Okay Yokuslu as the visitors secured an important comeback win.
And the Republic of Ireland international on loan continues to dominate the headlines and Baggies fans’ admiration.
He added: “Johnston is one player who is very special for us because he has the skill to help the team in building attacks and the skill to help in finishing of attacks.”His goal contribution thus far has been fantastic, exceptional, and that is why he will continue to improve and create an important career, because he is making good use of the loan.”
