Nelson Semedo shares why he has ‘massive respect’ for one Wolves player

Wolves won another three points in the Premier League against Fulham on Saturday, and Nelson Semedo complimented Mario Lemina for his outstanding all-action effort.

Wolves have risen to eighth in the table as a result of the win, which is Gary O’Neil’s new season favourite so far.
With Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Pedro Neto out due to injuries, Wolves would need to work extremely hard to achieve a win.

That’s exactly what happened, with the superb Rayan Ait-Nouri setting the tone before Nelson Semedo scored off Tom Cairney.

Semedo praised Wolves’ midfield general Mario Lemina after the game, despite Fulham’s consolation goal in the end.

Nelson Semedo praises Wolves’ Mario Lemina as a ‘great player’ following their win against Fulham. Lemina’s performance on Saturday was one of his best in a Wolves shirt.

Nelson Semedo Needs to Embrace Any Potential Adama Traore Partnership

Lemina began the game as a central midfielder, but due to Bellegarde and Neto’s injuries, he was forced to play in a variety of positions.

He was cropping up on the wings and getting into the box, and the 30-year-old just ran his socks off for the team.

Speaking after the game, full-back Semedo lauded his teammate, saying (via Wolves official): “He was very good. Mario, he does everything. He’s a very important player for us. He’s a very important player in the dressing room as well.

“I have massive respect for him. He played as a winger today, he played as a striker, he did a little bit at left-back as well, so he’s a top player.”

Super Mario is a sensation
The likes of Neto, Hwang Hee-chan and Matheus Cunha have come in for regular plaudits this season, but Mario Lemina has been the heartbeat of this team. He’s always available, and he’s always influential.

The Gabon international earns £45,000 a week and has been nothing short of inspirational for Wolves.

This club should have been in disarray after Julen Lopetegui and many other prominent players left during the transfer window. Instead, they’ve been terrific, and Lemina exemplifies what Gary O’Neil’s team is all about.

He is simply a warrior on the field, but Semedo’s decision demonstrates that he is also an important component of the dressing room and all that happens behind the scenes.
