Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who serves as an advisor to Milan and its owners RedBird, has been named president of the 2024 Kings World Cup.
The former striker retired at the end of last season, after an outstanding 24-year playing career. In his final three years at Milan, he proved himself a vital component of the squad, serving as a leader as the club won its first Scudetto in a decade.
Ibrahimovic couldn’t stay away from football for long, and joined Milan owners RedBird as a senior advisor, working closely with the Rossoneri in a backroom capacity. While it is difficult to assess his impact at this time, recent sources indicate that he would like to see Antonio Conte replace Stefano Pioli in the dugout.
Gianluca Di Marzio said that Ibrahimovic has been named president of the 2024 Kings World Cup, a seven-a-side event modeled after Gerard Pique’s Kings League.
His official title is President of the Kings World Cup, and he is known as the King of Kings throughout the competition. He will continue in his work with Milan while taking on additional tasks.
