The Pro Bowl and multiple award-winning quarterback, Jameis Winston, previously expressed great feelings about his time with the New Orleans Saints; nevertheless, he does not want to be a backup quarterback.
According to SI’s Kyle T. Mosley, the player expressed admiration for “the culture and integrity that this city possesses,” but also divulged his league objectives. Winston stated, “However, my goal, and desire, is to be a Super Bowl-winning starting quarterback in this league.” Right now, that doesn’t paint a very clear image of the New Orleans Saints.”
The former free agent has signed a one-year contract with the Cleveland Browns, whose top quarterback, Watson, has been limited for the past two seasons due to injuries and suspensions. He had made twelve starts.
Jameis Winston signed his Browns deal and didn’t even change before getting some work done.
Watson suffered a shoulder injury in 2023, which halted his season; however, he is expected to resume throwing once his rehabilitation is completed. Winston also recently stated that his desire to start the games will not derail his aim to help and assist Watson.
According to PFT via Akron Beacon Journal, Winston stated, “The most important thing, I believe, is that the relationship between me and Deshaun is in a position to grow and flourish.” I simply admire him as a person and, undoubtedly, as a football player. I’m looking forward to letting him lean on me for anything he needs. The Browns signed Joe Flacco last season after passing on P.J. Walker and Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who was eventually sidelined due to a concussion. Flacco was extremely good with the Browns, winning the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award as well.
In addition, the Browns have signed quarterback Tyler Huntley. Winston was selected first overall in the 2015 NFL Draft, and he began his career with the Tampa Bay Bucs.
