Brown will be a popular player within the locker room.
Marquise Brown, like a cat, has landed on his feet. After spending the previous two seasons with the lowly Arizona Cardinals, Brown has signed a one-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, the two-time defending Super Bowl winners, for whom he is expected to play a vital role in their pursuit for a third consecutive title.
Brown is already impressing his new colleagues, despite only signing on March 18. Fellow receiver Rashee Rice and ace quarterback Patrick Mahomes are thrilled to welcome Brown into the fold, where the former first-round choice should bolster the underachieving wide corps starting 2023.
At the NFL 101 Awards, Mahomes stated that Brown’s “hunger” and drive to compete at the greatest level initially impressed him. Brown’s resolve to excel when the lights are brightest might help him stand out in close games next January, when the Chiefs attempt to reach Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.
“You can tell he wants to win,” Mahomes explained. “You can tell he wants to be a part of something exceptional and wonderful. We’re attempting to construct that here.”
Brown began his career with the Baltimore Ravens, who are probably the Chiefs’ greatest competition in the AFC heading into the 2024 season. Injuries have hampered Brown throughout his five-year career, but it was just two seasons ago that he had 91 receptions for 1,008 yards while wearing a Ravens jersey.
Rashee Rice and Patrick Mahomes say that through some initial workouts with Hollywood Brown, they can tell he's a guy that wants to win.

Brown appeared in 24 games and scored seven touchdowns during his two seasons in Arizona, numbers that could have increased if quarterback Kyler Murray had been healthy to begin the 2023 season. But Brown remained psychologically strong despite the difficult days in the desert, as new colleague Rice has observed in brief interactions with him.
“He’s got good energy,” Rice stated during the 101 Awards. “He’s a good dude, easy to be around.”
