McCaffery claimed he is “out of words” about Clark’s 41 points in the victory.

After the 22-year-old Iowa Hawkeyes standout scored 41 points in Monday’s triumph over the LSU Tigers, Clark’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, praised her on Instagram.
McCaffery, 25, uploaded an ESPN graphic showing Clark’s game stats, which included seven rebounds, nine three-pointers, and 12 assists.
“Out of words for this one,” McCaffery captioned his story, tagging Clark and using a yellow heart and a hand-heart emoji.
Clark’s record-breaking performance helped her team advance to their second consecutive NCAA Tournament Final Four, where the Hawkeyes hope to win the championship. Last year, Iowa faced the LSU Tigers in the title game, but the Hawkeyes lost to the Angel Reese-led club.
McCaffery, a former Iowa Hawkeye basketball player, and Clark have been open about their relationship since August 2023.
Clark, the highest scorer in NCAA history, published the first photos of her and McCaffery together on Instagram, titled “Best end to summer,” as the two snuggled up on a boat.

McCaffery joined the Indiana Pacers of the NBA after earning bachelor’s degrees in political science and finance from the University of Iowa in May 2023.
Clark is likely to go first overall in this month’s WNBA Draft, landing her with the Indiana Fever – and not far from McCaffery!
He is currently working as a team assistant with the Pacers in a “all-hands on deck” capacity, according to the Des Moines Register. “I’ll play dummy defense, run the scout team, help coaches on film stuff, help on video projects if they need, scouting reports if they need,” he said. “Whatever you’re asked to do, be ready to do it.”
In January, McCaffery paid tribute to Clark on her 22nd birthday, which also happens to be her jersey number.
“Happy 22nd birthday.” I wish I could be there to celebrate with you; you deserve a wonderful day. “My Golden Birthday/Taylor Swift year will be the best yet,” he wrote.
“With everything you’ve already accomplished, there’s so much more in store for you and your unique personality. I admire you in every aspect and love you.”
In the national semifinals on Friday, Clark’s Hawkeyes will face Paige Bueckers’ UConn Huskies.
