Terell Thomas, a Charlton Athletic defender, is on the radar of Fehérvár in Hungary, according to X correspondent Pete O’Rourke.
Charlton Athletic might lose the centre-back for free at the conclusion of the season. Thomas, 28, is out of contract in late June and will become a free agent as things stand.
Here are three potential replacements for him.
Ed Turns.
At the age of 21, the Brighton & Hove Albion player has plenty of potential and may be a valuable long-term acquisition if Charlton can bring him to The Valley. His chances of making the first team at the AMEX Stadium are limited.
Turns, a Wales youth international, is presently on loan with Crewe Alexandra in League Two to gain experience. He previously spent two seasons at rival League One club Leyton Orient.
Andy Smith
Hull City approved his temporary move to Cheltenham Town during the January transfer window. The centre-back is set to return to the MKM Stadium this summer, and the Tigers will have to decide what to do with him next.
He is a possibility for the Addicks if Thomas leaves through the escape door. The Banbury native has already spent time away from East Yorkshire, playing for Salford City and Grimsby Town to further his development.
Jason Kerr
His contract at Wigan Athletic expires at the end of current season, and he has yet to sign an extension. The Latics risk losing him for free at the end of June if things continue.
Charlton should jump in and entice him south, given the uncertainty surrounding his status at the DW Stadium. The 27-year-old Scot is a good third-tier player who understands what it takes to be promoted to the Championship.
