France might be on the paternity list for anything from one to three days. It is uncertain at this point how much time he intends to spend. The news is certainly fantastic for the France Family, and we congratulate him on the expansion of his family.

However, his absence comes at a bad moment for the Mariners, who have struggled offensively in the early going. France is the only Mariners player who has hit in the early going, batting.320 with a.370 on-base percentage.

The former All-Star is aiming to regain his previous form after struggling tremendously in 2023, hitting just.250 with 12 homers.

What to expect from Ty France for the Mariners in 2023

Taylor provides the M’s with a speedster capable of making things happen on the basepaths. The 25-year-old made his Major League debut with the Kansas City Royals last season, batting.200 in 60 at-bats. He stole eight bases, and the Mariners acquired him this summer in a small trade with the Royals.

The Mariners and Brewers will begin their series Friday night at 8:05 p.m. ET. Logan Gilbert will throw for Seattle.
