Former second-round pick Cam Robinson is entering the final season of a three-year, $55 million contract, and the Jacksonville Jaguars appear to be preparing for life without the veteran. Entering the NFL back in 2017, the Alabama product has been a reliable presence as left tackle since he first joined the club. However, nothing lasts forever, and there are reasons to believe his time with the Jaguars is coming to a close.

After injuries limited him to just nine games in 2023, backup Walter Little made a compelling case to keep the starting job. According to Pro Football Focus, Little’s 58.8 grade wasn’t too far behind Robinson’s 65.4 mark. With first-round pick Anton Harrison locking down the other side, Jacksonville could make Little the starter and trade Cam Robinson for a decent return.

Bleacher Report believes the Jaguars should trade Cam Robinson to the Kansas City Chiefs. The defending Super Bowl winners have a clear need at left tackle and could benefit from a dependable presence in their starting lineup.

With no clear replacement on the roster, Kansas City should be willing to trade for a proven veteran like Cam Robinson as they pursue their third Super Bowl in as many years.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars have financial incentives to move Cam Robinson. According to OverTheCap, the veteran now has a $21.9 million cap charge, but they can save $17.3 million with a trade. Given the team’s existing cheaper tackle options, this money might be used to extend Brandon Aiyuk.

Of course, if the Jaguars are ready to sell Cam Robinson, the Chiefs will not be the only team looking to make a deal. While no one will trade a premium draft pick for his services, the following teams may make an offer for the veteran.

Possible Destinations: New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints desperately need an offensive tackle. With Trevor Penning struggling and Ryan Ramczyk out injured, this team should consider a Cam Robinson deal. Derek Carr is one of the league’s worst quarterbacks under pressure, and he won’t make it through the present tackle scenario. Robinson can instantly take over at left tackle, while JC Latham, a rookie, can man the right side.

New England Patriots

Nobody knows if Jacoby Brissett or a rookie will start for New England in 2024. However, regardless of who it is, they will struggle with the present offensive line. With Trent Brown gone, the Patriots must find a left tackle. Cam Robinson could be the best option available, and the Patriots have the cap room to easily accommodate a deal.
