Paige Bueckers aims to replace Caitlin Clark as college basketball’s biggest star next season
The UConn standout claims she still has “a whole lot left to prove”.
Paige Bueckers remained healthy and at her peak during the 2023-24 season, despite the fact that Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, and South Carolina received the most of the attention.
After a year of rehabbing from knee surgery, Bueckers led UConn to the NCAA Tournament semi-finals, where the limping Huskies were defeated by Caitlin Clark and Iowa. Despite the defeat, UConn had an impressive season.
Paige Bueckers sends a positive message after Iowa loss.
Thank you for watching!
Bueckers took some time to compose her thoughts before posting an end-of-season greeting on Instagram.
For a whole season of healthy basketball, I am eternally grateful. Extremely proud, yet far from content. A season of enduring difficulty while developing character, faith, hope, and strength. Despite all odds, I would not exchange this squad for the world. Still have a lot to prove.
With Clark out of the picture, Bueckers has a clear path to becoming the most marketable player in women’s college basketball next season. Bueckers and JuJu Watkins are perhaps the most talented college players entering the 2024-25 season.
Bueckers hopes to return to the National Championship after losing to South Carolina in 2022. Bueckers and UConn will most likely benefit from this year’s setback to Clark.
