DEAL CONFIRM : Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced the signing of another American receiver

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced on Saturday that they had signed American receiver Myron Mitchell.

Mitchell (six-foot-one, 180 pounds; Alabama-Birmingham; born June 17, 1998, in Jasper, AL) joins the Blue Bombers after spending the previous season with the Birmingham Stallions. Mitchell was originally signed by the Michigan Panthers before being traded to the Stallions, where he appeared in 10 games, catching 15 receptions for 138 yards and one touchdown to help Birmingham win its second consecutive USFL championship.
Mitchell signed his first professional contract with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in May of 2021, appearing in one game and spending the majority of the season on the practice squad until being released in late August 2022.

He began his scholastic career at Butler Community College (2016-17) before transferring to UAB (2019-20), where he had 63 receptions for 990 yards and seven touchdowns while also handling punt and kickoff returns.

The Bombers also announced the retirement of Nate Givhan, an American defensive lineman.
