Bastian Schweinsteiger sends Coventry City a 4 words message following Man Utd defeat

Schweinsteiger may have previously played for the Red Devils, but he had much higher regard for the Sky Blues.
Bastian Schweinsteiger, a former Manchester United midfielder, praised Coventry City for their passion following their FA Cup defeat over his previous club, turning to X to express his feelings.

Scott McTominay’s close-range goal in the 23rd minute gave the Red Devils the lead in the semi-final tie.

Harry Maguire doubled United’s advantage in the first minute of stoppage time at the end of the first half, and Bruno Fernandes scored a third shortly before the hour mark.

Ellis Simms equalized in the 71st minute, and Callum O’Hare’s deflected shot gave the Sky Blues renewed hope.

It appeared that United would hang on, but Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s mistake gave Haji Wright the opportunity to equalize from the penalty spot in the fifth minute of extra time.

This was an opportunity that the Americans seized, and they came close to winning in extra time, with Simms’ drive hitting the crossbar and Victor Torp’s goal ruled out for offside.

Coventry City: Bastian Schweinsteiger's message after Man Utd defeat

Their 6-2 victory over Oxford United was well-deserved, with the Sky Blues demonstrating great class on the day to clinch a resounding victory.

The U’s didn’t do too badly that day, but Coventry were simply a level above Des Buckingham’s team.

They have also impressed throughout the competition, demonstrating true grit at 3-0 down yesterday.

Getting back to 3-3 was an impressive feat, and many would argue that they deserved to win the tie in the end.

They may not have made it to the final, but they should be incredibly happy of what they have accomplished, especially without Viktor Gyokeres and Gus Hamer, who were nothing short of amazing last season.

Even if the Sky Blues do not qualify for the playoffs at the end of the season, there is enough to be happy about.
