“I am so sorry…” – QPR co-owner Amit Bhatia sends message to supporters after Championship survival confirmed

Amit Bhatia issued an emotional letter to QPR fans after they clinched their Championship status with a 4-0 victory over Leeds United on Friday night.
QPR co-owner Amit Bhatia apologised to fans for the difficult season they have had to endure, while also praising Marti Cifuentes for his outstanding job in preserving the club’s Championship position.

QPR beat Leeds United 4-0 to stay in the Championship.
The Spaniard’s performance since being appointed as Gareth Ainsworth’s successor has been nothing short of spectacular, with Cifuentes inheriting a team six points from safety and a fractured club and fan base.

However, a good run of form means they went into last night’s home game against Leeds knowing that a win would mathematically ensure their survival.
And they did so in style, with Cifuentes’ men thrashing the promotion aspirants 4–0 at Loftus Road.

Ilias Chair gave the R’s a deserved lead early on, before Lucas Andersen scored his first goal for the club with a superb finish.

The Londoners had to deal with some Leeds pressure after that, but they eventually regained control of the game, with Lyndon Dykes heading home to make it three, and Sam Field topped it all off with a late goal, causing wild celebrations around the stadium.

Amit Bhatia sends a QPR message.
Following the final whistle, the players and staff performed a lap of honor, with Cifuentes rightfully praised for his exploits, as he establishes a genuine relationship with the fans.

QPR has struggled for success in recent years, and Bhatia admitted this in an honest social media statement that also provided grounds for optimism in the future.

Marti Cifuentes can bring back the good times for QPR.
First and foremost, that is an excellent message from a co-owner, as they are not often as honest and direct with followers on social media.

Yes, several major blunders have been made throughout the years, like Neil Critchley’s and then Ainsworth’s unsuccessful appointments.

They’ve obviously found the right man in Cifuentes, and he deserves a lot of credit for the work he’s done since moving to England.

He has built a tough, resilient team, and they delivered their greatest performance under him against a Leeds side that could compete in the Premier League next season. It was a fantastic team performance, and the players did exactly what the coach wanted strategically.

Since Cifuentes’ appointment, QPR have been a top-half side, and if he can acquire some serious backing in the summer window, then the fans will be dreaming about what could be possible under the former Hammarby manager next season
