BOSTON — Bruins captain Brad Marchand was knocked out of Game 3 of the second-round playoff series at TD Garden on Friday night after taking a heavy hit from Florida Panthers center Sam Bennett.
Marchand, who is dealing with an upper-body injury, will not play in the Bruins’ Game 4 on Sunday. The collision with Bennett has deepened, thanks in large part to another action depicted on the play.
During TNT’s pregame coverage before Game 4, the network featured a fresh angle of Bennett’s extra shot on the Bruins captain, which appeared to shake Marchand with a powerful right hand as he passed by. Marchand remained on the bench following the collision and did not play for the remainder of the game.
