Football Insider has learned that Plymouth Argyle and Rotherham United are interested in signing Arkell Jude-Boyd on a free transfer this summer.
Jude-Boyd, 21, will leave Queens Park Rangers when his contract expires at the end of June this year.
In the second half of the season, the right-back impressed while on loan at Torquay United of the National League South.
The fact that Jude-Boyd will be available for free this summer has piqued the interest of many EFL clubs, with Plymouth and Rotherham already planning moves to capture him.
Rotherham ready to compete with Plymouth for Arkell Jude-Boyd
Jude-Boyd had a fantastic loan stay at Torquay, being named the club’s Young Player of the Season despite just signing in January.
The defender, who can also play on the flank, scored six goals in 17 National League South games and received three Player of the Month accolades at Plainmoor.
However, that hasn’t been enough to earn the Englishman a new contract at QPR, which is set to expire next month.
Jude-Boyd has not made any senior appearances for the Rs despite rising through the ranks at Loftus Road.
The right-back is expected to depart the west London club in the coming weeks, with both Plymouth and Rotherham keeping an eye on his status.
Plymouth will want to add to their squad after earning another season in the Championship, while Rotherham are putting the pieces in place to compete for promotion following their relegation to League One.
Other EFL clubs could be interested in signing Jude-Boyd after he impressed at Torquay.
