Poveda joined the Owls on loan from Leeds United in the January transfer window, making 10 appearances for the team in the second half of the season.
The 24-year-old was limited by injury during his time at Sheffield Wednesday, but he still impressed when fit and available.
As a result, there is a lot of conjecture about Poveda’s future, which is expected to be uncertain in the next months.

He was a key member of the championship-winning squad.
“He played exceptionally well, and all of the players speak highly of Danny Rohl.” I believe Poveda must use extreme caution right now. He didn’t play a game at Leeds United; he has to move somewhere where he will receive game time.
Of course, Burnley and Luton will play in the Championship next season, as will Sunderland. I believe he is best suited to his current situation at Sheffield Wednesday.

“I think still the best fit for him is joining Sheffield Wednesday where he spent the second half of the season on loan and excelled.” Poveda’s performances helped Sheffield Wednesday avoid relegation from the Championship last season, allowing them to prepare for another season in the second tier.

There is a strong argument that a permanent return to Hillsborough would be the greatest thing for Poveda to undertake this summer.
At his age, he is at the point in his career where he needs to start playing more often and establish himself in a position where he can begin to further his career.
Given how he played at Sheffield Wednesday, and the fact that he got game time there when fit and available, he may be assured of doing so with a return to the Owls.
Indeed, considering their superb success under Rohl since his appointment in October, Wednesday will undoubtedly aim much higher than a relegation battle next season.
With a return to Hillsborough, Poveda should be able to make great development in his career.
With that in mind, it would make perfect sense for everyone concerned if the winger returned to Sheffield Wednesday this summer.
