Stoke City are likely to find an early answer to their goalkeeping question in the form of highly regarded Rotherham United player Viktor Johansson.

According to The Telegraph’s John Percy, the Sweden international is expected to complete a physical today ahead of a £1 million-plus deal.

Johansson began his career with Hammarby in his native Sweden before joining the Villa academy for four years. In 2019, he joined Leicester’s development squad at the age of 19, however he never appeared in a first-team match. He earned his first senior cap against Moldova in October.
The move is an early and significant one for Stoke, who struggled in goal previous season. Mark Travers appeared to be a good signing, although on loan, before being called back by Bournemouth after just 14 appearances.
