Joao Gomes now sends four-word message Wolves fans will love, amid exit talk

Joao Gomes has sent a message on social media that Wolves fans will enjoy, despite recent speculation over his departure.

The Wanderers midfielder recently completed his first full season at Molineux, having joined the club in the middle of 2022/23.
Joao Gomes made 38 appearances in all competitions, forming an excellent connection with Mario Lemina in the engine room that has grown from strength to strength.

There was some pressure on Gomes before of the season. Former captain Ruben Neves had recently left, so the Brazilian assumed his number eight jersey and started in the midfield.

But Gomes has really excelled, and in all honesty, he can consider himself a little unlucky not to have made the

As a result of his brilliance, there has been some speculation regarding his future, with Arsenal and Manchester United reportedly interested in signing him this summer.

Last night, the athlete released a social media statement that alleviated some supporters’ concerns about the situation.

Joao Gomes uses four phrases to suggest Wolves’ exit is unlikely this summer. Gomes was a breath of new air for the Wolves in 2023-24.

He dabbled in the Premier League last season after joining from Flamengo, although he spent most of his time on the bench as Julen Lopetegui fielded Lemina, Neves, and Joao Moutinho.

But this season, Gary O’Neil has turned to him from the start – and the South American nicknamed ‘The Pitbull’ has not disappointed his manager.

The £30,000-per-week dynamo has been a continuous source of energy in the midfield, receiving praise for his ball-winning abilities in particular. Former Wolves player Dave Edwards stated earlier this year that he had never seen a greater ball-winner than himself in a Wolves shirt.

It’s not surprising that other clubs have expressed interest in him. Manchester United, now under new ownership, is thought to be interested, while Arsenal has also been linked with a summer transfer.

But it appears like Gomes isn’t planning to leave with the message he posted on X last night. He wrote: “I”

“I love being here.” This comment from Gomes is quite positive, as such transfer links have recently become far too regular for many people’s liking.

The South American has been a joy to watch in the midfield this season, and there is a sense that the Wolves have a great player on their hands.

To sell this summer would be quite disappointing. He has only been at the club since January 2023, and there is still so much space for him to grow under O’Neil.

If Wolves can keep him for another year or two, his market worth will skyrocket, and the club may make a significant profit. They should not be tempted to offload in this coming.
