LATEST NEWS : Transfer experts shares what he’s heard about Manchester City and Pedro Neto

Manchester City are looking to add players this summer, and Wolves winger Pedro Neto has been linked with the club in recent weeks.

Pep Guardiola recently won his sixth Premier League title and will be looking to repeat in what could be his final season as manager at the Etihad Stadium.

The manager’s contract expires in the summer of 2025, and next season could be his last.

He will want to leave on a high note, and in order to do so, he will need to make changes to his squad, as opponents are expected to invest heavily to close the gap.

City is said to be interested in Wolves winger

Wolves star Pedro Neto not currently a big priority for Manchester City

Pedro Neto, who just had a successful season at Molineux, despite a slow start.

Manchester City News spoke with HITC journalist and transfer analyst Graeme Bailey to learn the club’s current stand on the player, who is expected to fetch roughly £60 million if sold.
Neto has had a fantastic season at Wolves, despite suffering from injuries.

He appeared in 24 games for Gary O’Neil’s side, scoring three goals and assisting 11 times. The 24-year-old briefly led the Premier League assists list before suffering the first of two catastrophic hamstring injuries.

He has been at Molineux since the summer of 2019 and is expected to be the next ‘big’ player sale.

City has been linked with an interest in the player in recent years. But how intense is this interest? Manchester City News questioned transfer analyst Graeme Bailey for his opinion on the recent gossip.

He explained: “That (£60 million) is Wolves’ rough number. We know that’s the market price they’d ask for him.

“The talks I’ve had and heard… I haven’t heard anything about City and Neto. With such relationships, and with the agents, etc. I believe others have a stronger interest.

“From what I’ve heard, right wingers aren’t at the top of City’s wants list this summer.

“He’s a good player; City is aware of him and likes him. But I don’t think he’s considered a priority at this time.”

Neto could be an intriguing signing, but it is doubtful.
A few years ago, Neto was one of the Premier League’s most promising young talents.

Unfortunately, the star has suffered a series of ailments, forcing him to miss two important championships with Portugal previously.

Neto has recently been called up to Portugal’s Euro 2024 squad by Roberto Martinez, indicating how good he has been this season when he has played.

With his blistering pace and intricate dribbling, he would be a fascinating signing for City, and Pep has publicly lauded him on several occasions. And we witnessed him burst past Phil Foden and Nathan Ake to give Wolves the lead at Molineux in September.

However, he does not appear to be at the top of City’s target list right now.

One wonders if the organization has any misgivings about the player’s injury history, which is far from ideal.

If City isn’t too worried with signing a new right winger this summer, Oscar Bobb may see more playing time in 2024/25.
