BREAKING : Wolves 1877 Supporters Trust message to fans: Boycott season ticket renewals

The Wolves 1877 Supporters Trust has called on fans to boycott season tickets in protest of the steep price increases.
The trust claimed in a statement this afternoon that it was ‘outraged’ by the price increases and accused the club of ‘placing profit before its devoted followers’.

It is now requesting an urgent meeting with Chairman Jeff Shi, Director of Football Operations Matt Wild, and Commercial Manager Russell Jones. In the interim, it encouraged fans to’send a message to the team’ by refusing to renew their season tickets.

The statement reads: “The Wolves 1877 Trust is shocked by the magnitude of the increase in season ticket renewals announced by the club today.

“The rises much exceed the rate of inflation and the extra costs connected with running a football match. It’s evident that the club prioritizes profit over its dedicated fan base. Wolves season ticket pricing for 2024/5 season: “The rise is an affront to dedicated match-going fans who have seen year on year hikes since our return to the Premier League in 2018. This does not augur good for match-day prices.

“This increase is at a time when the club is experiencing record revenues through TV money and sponsorship.”During their engagement sessions with the Trust, the Club was happy to promote having the lowest costs for youngsters in the league. The above-100 percent hike is a severe blow to families that attend games and marks the end of reasonable costs for future club fans.”

It adds: “We are dissatisfied that fans are expected to pay more when Molineux’s facilities have not improved and there are no plans to redevelop the stadium.”

“We are encouraging season ticket holders to take an unusual step and send a message to the club by boycotting the renewal process. Unfortunately, this is the only way we can see the club change course.

“We will request an urgent meeting with Jeff Shi, Matt Wild, and Russell Jones to discuss our concerns.” It’s time to support the Trust. If you’re dissatisfied with the ticket hikes, join the Trust by clicking the link in the comments.”
