JUST IN : Swansea City continue to monitor attacker ahead of the next transfer window

Swansea City is still monitoring Excelsior striker Couhaib Driouech ahead of the summer transfer window, according to WalesOnline.
Swansea City were allegedly interested in signing the attacker during the January transfer window. However, they were unable to reach an agreement this winter.
Driouech, 22, remained with Stadion Woudestein until the end of last season, but his future is once again uncertain. He has been on the roster of his current club since 2021.

According to WalesOnline, the Swans are still showing some ‘flickering embers of interest’ in him right now. However, PSV is also thought to be interested in signing him.

The former Notts County manager is gearing up for his first full season in command at Swansea.com Stadium, and he will be seeking to make his own mark on the side.
Swansea City may consider bringing in Driouech to strengthen their attacking lineup.

He is under contract with Excelsior until June 2025, so there is no pressure to cash in on him just yet. They fear losing him for free in 12 months if they don’t sell him for a fee first, presuming he doesn’t sign an extension soon.

The ex-Morocco youth international began his career at Heerenveen and progressed through the academy ranks.

He went on to make five first-team appearances before leaving permanently three years ago.

Driouech has now established himself as an important player for Excelsior, appearing in 97 games across all competitions and contributing 14 goals and 14 assists.
Swansea City’s Summer Ahead

Time will tell whether Swansea City can beat off competition from PSV and bring the player to Wales.

In the meanwhile, they will explore their choices, as Williams hopes to bring in some new faces to freshen things up ahead of the upcoming season.

The Swans recently announced its retained list, revealing that Nathanael Ogbeta, Lewis Webb, Ben Blythe, and Josh Carey had been released.

They have also agreed on new contracts for Kyle Naughton and Joe Allen, as well as offering Jamie Paterson a new contract in order to keep him.
