DONE DEAL : Rotherham United welcome another 31-year-old promotion winners to their squad

Rotherham United’s summer recruitment frenzy continues with the arrival of a League One title winner at the New York Stadium on Friday.
Sean Raggett, a 31-year-old centre-back who made 44 appearances in all competitions for Portsmouth as they won League One last season, became former Peterborough United manager Steve Evans’ fifth acquisition when he agreed to a two-year contract yesterday. He joins forward Jonson Clarke-Harris, left back Reece James, midfielder Shaun McWilliams, and right back Joe Rafferty as new Millers players. Rafferty was also part of Pompey’s winning squad last season, and Clarke-Harris (Posh) and James (Sheffield Wednesday) have also been promoted from League One.

Evans still has a long way to go to match the number of acquisitions he made for Posh during his one summer at the club. He scored 18 in preseason and another five in January, but he was fired before the end of the month, with Posh in the play-offs.
