Manchester United could turn to Wolves defender Max Kilman if they miss out on Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite, according to GiveMeSport.
According to the online site, Branthwaite remains United’s top defensive target, but Everton refuses to lower their asking price, potentially forcing the Red Devils to search elsewhere. Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi is thought to be one option, but the Eagles may also play hardball, which may entail looking at Wolves’ Kilman.
Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite’s valuation
United are certainly interested in signing Branthwaite this summer, but Everton are right to laugh off their alleged £50 million value of one of the Premier League’s finest
Young talents.
The Red Devils hope to take advantage of the Toffees’ precarious financial circumstances, although there are other players who can be moved first.
According to the same report, United might offer £60 million for Guehi, making Branthwaite’s £50 million figure even more surprising. The transfer window has not yet opened, but we know the 21-year-old’s future will dominate the gossip columns for the next three months. All we can hope is that Branthwaite remains at Goodison Park when it ends on August 30. The only way this will not be the case is if United adds an additional £20 million to their value.
In other Everton news, the club is apparently planning a move to sign a player who has received VIP treatment from Manchester United.
