Liverpool, Man City told record-breaking fee they must pay to sign sublime wolves fantastic winger

Liverpool, Manchester City, and Newcastle are among the clubs interested in Wolves winger Pedro Neto, who is expected to transfer this summer.

The Portuguese international is undeniably one of Gary O’Neil’s best players, but injuries have always been a worry for him. Neto was on fire in the beginning of 2023/24. He scored eight goals in the first two months of the season before being sidelined with a hamstring injury.

The 24-year-old struggled to regain his form when he returned, but the winger’s talent appears to have left an indelible impact on his pursuers.

According to reports, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Newcastle are all considering making a bid for Neto since they understand Wolves may need to make at least one major sale this summer due to Premier League financial restrictions. It has been reported that they were on the verge of breaking the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules this season, which resulted in Everton and Nottingham Forest losing eight and four points, respectively.

Wolves want to avoid a similar tragedy in 2024/25, but they will not let Neto depart on the cheap.

Wolves put a high price tag on Pedro Neto.
According to The Telegraph, the financial strain on Wolves isn’t as severe as other outlets have suggested, but they may still break company with Neto.

Liverpool, Manchester City, and Newcastle have reportedly been advised that they must pay a minimum of £60 million to capture the gifted forward, which would be a record-breaking sell for Wolves. Mohamed Salah, the Reds’ star player, could yet move this summer because to interest from Saudi Arabia, therefore Neto could be brought in to replace him.

According to reports, Salah is considering staying at Anfield, but even if he does, Neto might be brought in as the club prepares for life without the 31-year-old.

Man City have some quality wingers at their disposal, but Pep Guardiola is constantly looking for ways to improve his squad.

The Cityzens are reported as ‘long-term admirers’ of the Wolves player, and they may intensify their pursuit if Bernardo Silva leaves this summer.

Newcastle, on the other hand, have made recruiting a new winger a primary priority, with Miguel Almiron linked with a move away from St James’ Park. Neto may compete with Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes for a spot in Eddie Howe’s starting lineup.

With that in mind, it’ll be intriguing to see if any of the Premier League triumvirate are willing to match Wolves’ £60 million asking price for Neto in the coming weeks.
