According to journalist Nacho Sanchis, Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in Villarreal’s goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen.
He took to X, now known as Twitter, to declare that Chelsea and Wolves had’sounded him out’.
This season, the stopper maintained six clean sheets and surrendered 64 goals. Despite this, his displays have made him ‘stand out in a positive way’ and eliminated any questions that were about him at the outset of the year.
Jorgensen rose through the Yellow Submarine’s academy system and was promoted to the first team in January 2023, where he has remained this season.
Chelsea and Wolves have taken notice of the 22-year-old’s performances, and it has been reported that the Premier League duo have conducted polls to find out
the prerequisites necessary to sign him. His contract lasts until 2027 and contains a €40 million release clause. According to Sanchis, the La Liga club ‘would anticipate a high amount of money’, implying that they are willing to part ways with him for a cost less than his clause, without providing specific amounts.
Faced with the prospect of losing the Dane, Villarreal has been searching for a goalkeeper in the market.
