Wing-back Nelson Semedo talked about something that many Wolves fans do on matchdays at Molineux.
The Portugal international recently completed his fourth season at Molineux and declared that it was his greatest campaign to yet.
Many fans would agree, as will his teammates, who recently voted him Players’ Player of the Season.
Semedo shined at times in 2023/24 under Gary O’Neil, who rapidly developed a love for the 30-year-old. Some believed O’Neil should have relied more on Matt Doherty, who had recently returned to the club on a free transfer.
However, Semedo was almost always there for Wolves, playing 3483 minutes in 41 outings.
The footballer discussed the 2023/24 season and revealed a favorite activity among Wolves fans.
Nelson Semedo admits he genuinely enjoys the Wolves fans’ chant for him.
Semedo had a great time in 2023/24.
He was a regular starter for O’Neil, playing wing-back, full-back, and even center-back on occasion. The former Barcelona player was clearly a step above last season, and his Players’ Player award was well deserved.
Semedo’s name was frequently heard around Molineux last season due to his many strong games, and the player has stated that he adores the song the fans have written for him.
He said (via a Wolves official): “I’m not going to lie, that’s great to hear. Even
“The supporters really helped us a lot, both at home and away, and we always felt like we were playing at home.”
For those unfamiliar with Semedo’s chant, it can be heard here.
Semedo appears really happy at Wolves. It’s fantastic to hear Semedo acknowledge his music, and he appears to be in good spirits at the club.
Recent conjecture has centered on his future. It has been suggested that Wolves may want to move him on because he just has one year on his deal.
He is a big earner, and getting him off the payroll could allow the Wolves to close additional transactions this summer.
But we know that O’Neil adores Semedo, with the manager recently describing him as’massive’ for Wolves and admitting he is ‘desperate’ to keep him.
It has also been claimed that Semedo and his family have settled in Tettenhall, which may indicate that he will continue at Wolves for another year.
