Wolves pushing hard to sign striker Mauricio Pochettino said has ‘amazing’ potential in Europe

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be looking to strengthen their squad this summer after a much improved season last year.

Wolves underperformed in 2022/23, but have performed much better under Gary O’Neil this season, exceeding expectations and playing some attractive football along the road. This summer, there is more hope at Molineux than there was a year ago, thanks to the club’s improved financial situation.

According to CBS writer Ben Jacobs, Wolves have set their sights on a striker with “amazing potential” according to Mauricio Pochettino.

The player in question is Chelsea attacker Armando Broja, who Jacobs says Everton and Crystal Palace are also interested in signing.

AS Monaco and AC Milan are also interested in Broja, who is allegedly keen to go to the Saudi Pro League.

Jacek Kulig of Football Talent Scout praised X in 2022, describing him as a “complete” forward who is a “clinical finisher” and “dangerous in the air”.

Meanwhile, former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino told The Independent in January: “The potential is incredible. We’re talking about one of the young attackers in England and in Europe with most promise.

“But the problem now is he needs to push himself, and we’re going to try to help him to realise that never it is enough.

“He was nearly a year gone (hurt), and now he needs time. It is difficult for him to execute at the expected level.

“We have high expectations for him and believe strongly in him. We’ll urge him to develop every day.

“Smile,” I told him. We always joke about how he needs to grin, laugh, and channel more positive energy into himself in order to be a happier guy.”
