Portsmouth confirm transfer update of another premier league fantastic winger also wanted by Sunderland and Milwall

Pompey are interested in Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi for the upcoming Championship season. However, they must be patient.

The Blues have identified the lively 21-year-old as someone who can make an immediate impact on the Fratton Park first team and add the extra quality required for their Championship comeback. With interest in the England under-20 international set to be high this summer, Pompey are well aware that they will have a difficult task convincing Rak-Sakyi that the south coast should be the next stage in his career.

But, as they fight with Sunderland and Millwall for a prospective loan move, they should be mindful that Palace will wait until the middle of July to decide what to do with the former Chelsea prodigy. According to Londonnewsonline.co.uk, Eagles manager Oliver Glasner will wait until his players return for pre-season training, and even after their pre-season trip to America, before making a decision on a player who scored 15 goals and provided nine assists during an impressive loan spell at Charlton in 2022-23.

The same is true for David Ozoh, another intriguing young player on Palace’s roster who is also attracting interest from rival clubs.

Rak-Sakyi made six Premier League appearances for the Selhurst Park club last season, but is yet to play under Glasner since his appointment as Roy Hodgson’s successor in February. Injury has limited the Southwark-born player’s progress this season. However, he was an unused substitute in three Palace games near the conclusion of the season after being included in their match-day squads.

Pompey are looking to enhance their offensive wide areas ahead of their Championship return. They also continue interested in Rak-Sakyi’s Palace teammate Jadan Raymond, whom they were close to signing in January.
