DerbyshireLive brings you the latest Derby County news, including what Ben Pringle has said about the Rams. Ben Pringle believes Derby County was one of the “best experiences” of his career and aspires to return someday.
The midfielder is presently at Fleetwood United in Dubai after leaving non-league Altrincham last year. Pringle was given a player/coach role, and he also led the team to the UAE Second Division League title, securing promotion. When questioned about his career so far, which has taken him from non-league to the Middle East, he says his time at Derby stood out, having joined them from Ilkeston Town after previously being on the books of West Brom.

“Returning to the Championship and being given the opportunity to participate was extremely important to me. This was one of the nicest experiences I’ve had.Then there was my time at Rotherham, where we advanced from League 2 to the Championship with two consecutive promotions. It was a remarkable period in my career. Preston had the most challenging experience. I wasn’t playing or participating at all. So in many ways, that was probably the most difficult.”
Pringle looks back on his time at Derby with pride, having made 23 appearances before going on to Rotherham United, where he earned back-to-back promotions.
He went on to say, “Yeah, it was wonderful for me because coming from non-league and playing for such a big team (Derby) at that great stadium meant a lot to me. Definitely, it was one of my favorite stages of my career, one I constantly reflect on and hope to return to someday.”
