Queens Park Rangers Keen To Sign £1.7 Million-Rated Top-Flight Star : view

According to the latest reports, Queens Park Rangers are looking to strengthen their midfield this summer and are considering a deal for a player from France’s top flight.

According to French source L’Equipe, QPR is monitoring Nordine Kandil’s situation in Strasbourg and has expressed “notable interest” in the 22-year-old. The playmaker has entered the final year of his contract with the Ligue 1 club and appears to be contemplating his options ahead of the summer transfer market.

Furthermore, L’Equipe reports that the West London club may have competition for Kandil’s signature, with recently relegated Ligue 2 team Clermont Foot also interested in the Strasbourg academy product and may make an offer in the coming months. According to FootballTransfers, the Franco-Moroccan’s market value ranges between £1 and £1.7 million. Kandil spent the whole 2023/24 season on loan at Annecy in France’s second division, where he impressed with four goals and eight assists in 38 games. Kandil has attracted interest from teams such as Queens Park Rangers and Clermont Foot.

Last month, Chronicle Live revealed that the Magpies were looking to transfer him permanently, which means QPR might sign the 29-year-old on a permanent basis. Queens Park Rangers were the Championship’s fourth-lowest scoring team this season. Only Rotherham United, Sheffield Wednesday, and Millwall scored fewer goals. One of the reasons for this was, of course, the lack of a prolific centre-forward, as well as the team’s lack of inventiveness.
