Swansea City manager Luke Williams gave a four-word message to Swansea City fans.

Luke Williams has thanked Swansea City fans for their warm welcome since his return to the club, as he seeks to strengthen the bond between squad and supporters ahead of his first full season in command.

Head coach Williams took over in SA1 in January and, after a difficult start, guided the Swans to a promising finish to the 2023-24 season.

The 43-year-old has frequently spoken about the importance of the link between those on the field and those in the seats, believing that it was a unique aspect of victories and performances such as the South Wales derby victory over Cardiff City.

Williams agrees that more work needs to be done to establish that link, which he believes will be critical for Swansea City.

“The first thing to say to the fans is a huge thank you for the warmth I have felt from them, and it is a feeling,” stated the manager of the Swans.

“What makes connection so difficult is that it is a feeling that you cannot bottle, write down, or even describe; but, when you have it, you have it.

“I believe I understand the fans here because this is a working-class club, which means a lot to me.”

“When we can create something that is respected from the ground to the stands and vice versa, we will be able to feel it, and no one will be able to tell us we don’t have it.”

“We have some work to do to instill the respect and bottom-line standards that we should expect from one another.”

“I have no doubt that we are moving in the right direction, but it is my job, as well as the players’ and staff’s, to try to harness that, and we will get there.” “When we do, we will know.”
