No Sidibeh bid yet.
According to the Dundee Courier, St Johnstone is yet to receive communication regarding striker Adama Sidibeh.

Swansea are keeping an eye on the forward, who is worth roughly £500,000, according to reports in the national press over the weekend.

The 25-year-old is currently on international duty with Gambia and made his debut with a goal off the bench.

However, according to the Courier, “there hasn’t even been so much as a phone call to the Perth club” either Sidibeh or fellow top player Dimitar Mitov.

Sidibeh has two years remaining on his contract north of the border, and no approach has been made.

Swansea manager Luke Williams wants to bring in a striker this summer after scoring few goals last season. “I think there is a realistic possibility that there will be a new striker,” he remarked last month.

“We also need to bring in additional players who have either proven themselves to be capable of scoring goals or who we believe will score if placed in the correct situation.

“We definitely need more natural finishers, more guys with the instinct to finish actions off, because we are getting in there.”

Swansea’s Ben Cabango, Liam Cullen, and Azeem Abdulai all played for their respective countries this weekend.

Cabango and Cullen played in Wales’ 4-0 loss to Slovakia, with the former starting and the latter coming off the bench in Trnava.

Abdulai, meanwhile, began for Scotland’s under-21s on Friday, when the young team lost to Austria.

In other international news, Aimar Govea has been nominated to Ecuador’s Under-20 squad for the forthcoming tournament in Chile.

Ecuador will face Paraguay on June 19, Canada on June 21, and Chile on June 23.

Langstaff appointed captain.
Macaulay Langstaff has been selected Notts County’s captain for the 2024/25 season.

Langstaff, who was reported as a potential Swansea target earlier this summer, will be assisted by vice-captain Matt Palmer.

Although the revelation will not put an end to speculation over the striker’s future, it does suggest that he will remain at Meadow Lane for a while.

Head coach Stuart Maynard said: “First and foremost, on behalf of everyone at the club, I’d want to thank Kyle Cameron for his service as captain over the last three years. He took the team back into the EFL, and his contributions throughout his tenure are widely acknowledged.

“However, we believe that this summer provides an opportunity to make positive changes to the squad’s leadership structure as we prepare for another highly competitive League Two promotion challenge.

“Macaulay has everything we look for in a club captain of this size. He has earned the respect of everyone – players, staff, and supporters – by his tremendous, consistent performances and the way he conducts himself on a daily basis.

“His work ethic is contagious, and as captain, he will play a critical role in creating the working environment we require to be successful this season.” Matt, who several players, including Macca, have said us is one of the most influential players in the group, will be there to help him.

“Matt’s recovery is progressing well and he is going to be a huge figure for us moving forward, both on the field and off it in his new role.”

Langstaff stated, “To even play for a club of this size is a privilege, but to be told by the manager that he wants me as captain is one of the proudest moments of my career.” I’m extremely grateful to him for putting his trust in me to lead the squad into the next season.”
