Gary O’Neil could finally sign ‘insane’ Wolves striker target as new transfer update emerges

Wolves are apparently interested in Bruno Lage, who was frequently linked with a departure from the club during his time there.

Wanderers fans have received good news in the last 24 hours, as the team has reached an agreement with Braga to sign Rodrigo Gomes. Gomes, 20, is expected to complete his £12.7 million move to Molineux this week, and fans are thrilled with his signing.

It’s going to be a busy summer, and fans hope that several more will follow Gomes in the door.

Wolves are reportedly interested in a player who was previously associated with the club.

According to Turkish outlet Takvim, Michy Batshuayi is on the Wolves’ radar, as his contract with Fenerbahce is soon to expire.

However, Batshuayi’s contract might still be extended for another year, as the club has the option to do so. He has been there since September 2022 and has a decent goalscoring record, with 44 goals in 75 appearances. Twenty-four of those goals came last season.

It was subsequently believed that Wolves had made an approach to sign Batshuayi the following summer.

In the end, Lage never got his man and was fired as Wolves manager in October 2022, after his team had only three Premier League points and scored three goals.

Low risk but uninspired. Batshuayi had a solid season in 2023/24, and his record at Fenerbahce is good.

He would be a low-risk acquisition for Wolves because he would incur no transfer fees. He’s previously played in the Premier League for Chelsea and Crystal Palace.

However, the club’s move for him is unlikely to appeal to many Wolves fans. It is somewhat unimpressive.
