“bulls**t” was his Twitter/X response. Nates then stated that he would apologize if Jensen departed for Steve Evans’ Rotherham, or if City acquired a goalkeeper from Chesterfield. The latter was another rumour spread by Chapman on Sunday, June 9.

Ryan Whelan, the proprietor of The Deck, confirmed on Twitter/X that there was no truth to the report after speaking with a Lincoln source, right before Nates put any concerns to rest. Lukas Jensen’s Appearances Over the Past 50 Years:
The Danish goalkeeper joined Lincoln City from Burnley last summer and made a half-century of games in his debut season. He played 45 out of 46 League One games, missing only the trip to Carlisle United, where he

Benched due to injury.

Jensen spent last season on loan at Accrington Stanley, but his performance improved even more after making the permanent move to the LNER Stadium. The 25-year-old preserved 19 clean sheets in his 45 league outings, finishing just one behind Derby County’s shot-stopper Joe Wildsmith in the golden glove race. He finished the season tied with Will Norris of Portsmouth, but conceded less goals than the eventual third-tier champion.

Opinion: It’s good to see rumors cleared up.
In my perspective, it was nice to see the Lincoln chairman publicly put an end to the rumors about Jensen. It prevented the claim from spreading further throughout the Imps fanbase, where it would have undoubtedly worried a few.

The Dane was a key component of City’s success last season, offering a solid and dependable last line of defence. The classic ice hockey saying, “Show me a good coach, and I’ll show you a good goalie,” also applies to football.
