Midfielder keen on QPR move as Premier League club eye release, Championship sides interested

According to the Shields Gazette, QPR loan favourite Isaac Hayden wants to return to the club as Newcastle United want to release him a year early.
QPR signed Newcastle United midfielder Hayden on loan in the January transfer window, and he rapidly established himself as an important member of Marti Cifuentes’ team. While the 29-year-old wasn’t always a starter as the Spaniard shuffled his midfield, Hayden’s influence was palpable. His physicality in the midfield made him a popular figure during his 17 appearances for the Spaniard.

As a result, Hayden has been linked with a return to Loftus Road. He is down the pecking order at Newcastle United and has expressed a desire to return to the R’s.

Now, the Shields Gazette has confirmed such stories.

According to reports, Hayden is interested in joining QPR on a permanent basis, and Newcastle are attempting to reach an agreement on an early release for the former Arsenal and Hull City player.

Hayden’s contract expires in 2025, but Championship clubs are intrigued as his exit looms.

A plausible transaction.
Hayden appears to be leaving Newcastle United this summer.

If he gets freed from his contract early, it will be relatively easy for his supporters to strike. They’ll simply need to achieve an agreement on the player’s end, so the main stumbling block will be fighting off interest from other clubs.
QPR should be in a strong position to sign Hayden. He is apparently interested in returning to West London, and given what he has done for Cifuentes, the R’s should be interested as well.

On a free transfer, he would be a low-cost, low-risk move for the team to make.

They set out for a crucial window.

Midfield signings are needed.
It’s unclear whether Hayden is among them, but expect a few midfield arrivals at QPR during the summer transfer window.

Both he and Joe Hodge’s loans have expired, and Andre Dozzell has been freed. It leaves Sam Field, Jack Colback, Elijah Dixon-Bonner, and the forgotten Taylor Richards as midfield alternatives.

It means that there is already a need for reinforcements in the park’s center, but if more people go, the requirement will grow much more.

As Hayden receives adoring eyes and Newcastle considers an early release, it will be intriguing to observe if and when QPR make their move.
