BREAKING NEWS : Premier League top clubs and Championship are now pushing hard to sign QPR ace despite new agreement

Sinclair Armstrong might quit QPR this summer despite a contract extension, with Premier League and Championship clubs interested, according to The Athletic.
Armstrong has been at QPR since October 2020, when he joined from Shamrock Rovers at a tender age.

The Irishman is still only 20, but after loan spells with Torquay United and Aldershot Town, he has made 64 first-team appearances for the R’s. The goals haven’t come easily, with only four goals and four assists in that time, but he’s a constant threat at the top of the pitch and is largely regarded as having a bright future.

As a result, there was much satisfaction when it was reported that his stint at QPR had

extended by twelve months. However, following Wednesday morning’s announcement, The Athletic reported that he could still go. According to reports, Premier League and Championship clubs, as well as international teams, are interested in Armstrong.

Discussions on fresh terms beyond his one-year agreement have stalled, and the teenager may leave Loftus Road as a result. Still heading somewhere else?
It would be a setback for QPR to lose Armstrong. He may not be the most prolific striker just yet, but his physicality and work effort are second to none. When the final product arrives, Armstrong will be a major issue.

As a result, the R’s will be hoping to keep him and develop him further before maybe selling him on.

for a sizable profit down the way. However, if a contract extension is not agreed to keep him into next summer, a sale may be the club’s best choice. That way, the West London club ensures they get something for the youngster, avoiding the possibility of losing Armstrong for nothing next year. Cifuentes’ Striker Options
With the transfer window open on Friday, it appears that a striker will be on QPR’s shopping list.

Michael Frey’s loan is coming to an end, Charlie Kelman’s future is uncertain, and it has been reported that Armstrong may still leave despite having his contract extended.

That could leave Marti Cifuentes with only Lyndon Dykes on his roster, so expect him to look for at least one fresh option at the top of the pitch this summer.

Some teams will already have deals in place before the window’s formal starting date, so QPR fans will be eager to see when their first signing is confirmed and who it could be.
