While Palace may have caught everyone else off guard when they signed Wharton, he is no longer a well-kept secret and is now regarded as a unique talent.

Bayern Munich is one such club that has taken notice of Wharton, with Vincent Kompany reportedly interested in bringing the Englishman to the Allianz Arena for a fee of £60 million.

Manchester City is also taking attention, as the club sees Wharton as a long-term answer to the dilemma that Rodri’s departure or decline would cause.

If he continues to produce like this, there is a good potential that Wharton will be targeted by the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal, which would be well deserved.
