JUST IN : ‘Secret negotiations’ in Brighton on way to sell Seagulls player for €20-22m

Brighton and Hove Albion will hold’secret negotiations’ with VfB Stuttgart over Deniz Undav as the two clubs seek to finalize a permanent contract for him.

According to Sport BILD, the striker is on his way to achieving his goal of staying at the German club.

Undav has been on loan with Stuttgart this season after a dismal first year at Brighton, and he has been one of the standouts, creating a lethal connection with Serhou Guirassy and propelling the German team to the Champions League.

He wants to make the deal permanent and has publicly lobbied the two teams to do so, but Brighton’s asking price of €20 million has long been a sticking issue for Stuttgart.
Sport BILD insists this is still the case today, claiming the price is €20-22 million plus €5 million in salary, a ‘huge package’ for the Germans to pay out.

As a result, they want to speak with Brighton in order to reach an agreement, thus a trip has been scheduled for Stuttgart authorities.

They will travel to Brighton to negotiate the actual details of the contract, preferring to do so face to face.

It remains to be seen if they can reach an agreement, with the Seagulls standing fast on a price that Stuttgart has always stated that they cannot afford it, even with Champions League money.
