3 centre-backs QPR should keep in mind amid multi-club interest in 25-year-old

QPR were connected with Rotherham United defender Cameron Humphreys earlier this week, but they are not the only ones interested.
This summer, QPR are looking for new signings to bolster their backline. Cameron Humphreys, who looked strong in the Championship despite Rotherham United’s difficulties, is said to be on the radar. As a result, the 25-year-old has been linked with Sheffield Wednesday, Millwall, and Swansea City, in addition to the R’s.

Because of the high demand for his expertise, bringing him on board may be difficult. And, if he does leave, people at Loftus Road should be ready to shift their focus elsewhere.

Here, we provide three choices for QPR to explore.

Di’Shon Bernard | Sheffield Wednesday
Bernard’s future at Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday is uncertain, as other teams have expressed interest in his services.

The 23-year-old played an important role for the Owls as they avoided relegation to League One, performing well in both a back three and a back four. He’s at a good age to develop, and if he becomes available for free, he may be an excellent signing.

If new contracts aren’t agreed at Hillsborough, QPR should keep an eye on Bernard.

Granada defender Torrente: “Playing at the Bernabéu doesn't make me lose sleep” - Managing Madrid

Raul Torrente – Granada CF
If Cifuentes wants to put his Spanish connections to work, Raul Torrente could be an excellent addition to the R’s.

The centre-back turns 23 in September, and despite minimal playing time for a relegated Granada, he has yet to renew his contract with the club. The contract expires later this month, and he will have suitors if it is permitted to run out.

He has earned valuable experience in La Liga, but he is now ready to play senior football on a regular basis. A Championship move may be an interesting alternative, and with a Spanish manager, QPR could be the right setting for Torrente to flourish.

Japhet Tanganga of Spurs

QPR must keep these 3 Cameron Humphreys alternatives in mind
Last but not least is a highly sought-after talent who could be a viable acquisition.

Tanganga will leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer, and after impressing on loan at Millwall in the second half of last season, he’s wanted back in the Championship. The Lions want to reunite, and demoted Luton Town is also interested.

Strong competition for his signature may make the deal difficult to complete, but QPR should at least put their name in the running. If they were to strike a contract, it would be excellent business for West Londoners.
