Charlton and Millwall have agreed a fee for centre-back Alex Mitchell.
According to the South London Press, personal terms have also been agreed upon with the 22-year-old, who has a year left on his Den contract.
Mitchell was scheduled to move to the League One club from South London, according to our newspaper.
The defender spent the season on loan with Lincoln City, where he appeared in 41 games across all competitions.
Mitchell’s first loan out from Millwall was to non-league side Bromley, and he has since received experience at St Johnstone and Leyton Orient.
“When I am up here I like to be up here, if you get me, I feel like if you have got one eye on home and one eye here then you are probably not as efficient or good on the pitch,” he stated.
“This loan was a little odd. It’s the first time I’ve brought furniture up and such. Normally, I just stay here and don’t go back home.
“I recall Kenny Jackett at Orient telling me to avoid driving as much as possible in order to save my hamstrings. He has so much experience. You learn things from your loans, and that is one that I have taken on.”
Charlton are anticipated to Push through a deal for Josh Edwards next week, when the Dunfermline left-sided defender returns from his summer sabbatical.
