Rich Hughes has been credited with playing a crucial role in Pompey’s move for Jordan Williams.
And the praise has come from the player himself, who has revealed that the Blues’ sports director pitched the club to him effectively.
Williams signed a three-year contract with Fratton Park on Friday, completing his free transfer from Oakwell. He is Pompey’s first signing of the summer window, as the club looks to strengthen ahead of their much anticipated Championship return.
This summer, Hughes is once again under pressure to deliver on his recruitment promises. Following his appointment as PO4 in 2022, the former Forest Green Rovers director of football has an exceptional track record in this regard. Indeed, alongside head coach John Mousinho, whom he also brought to the club, he is widely regarded as the mastermind behind Pompey’s recent impressive success.
