The trio could turn into regular first-teamers who save, and could make, the club a lot of money down the line. If there is any club in the Championship that really know the pain of not being able to spend money, it is Queens Park Rangers. They’ve had some of the richest owners in the EFL and yet previous spending sprees from many years ago have hampered them almost ever since. They appear to be on the rise currently, with Marti Cifuentes, one of the most promising young managers in the EFL. The Spaniard has given the club optimism, despite a team that was clearly not up to the task when seen individually; this is simply Marti performing his magic.
The 2023/24 squad was mainly older, but with the manager’s supervision, several young players are emerging who might be very exciting for Hoops fans while also saving the club a lot of money.
Rayan Kolli
Rayan Kolli, a flashy forward, has already made his league debut with the club, having appeared in 10 Championship games for the R’s previous season. Kolli’s talent shone through during games for the club’s youth teams. His complicated nature on the wings made him difficult to stop, and his efforts deservedly earned him additional first-team minutes.
Uncertainty surrounds some of the club’s greatest current attacking players, including Chris Willock, who might depart for free this summer. Having Kolli come through and develop will make things easier because he has the potential to be a more than acceptable substitute for these types of guys.
