West Ham ‘ramp up’ efforts to sign Tottenham target as Aston Villa eye up Nigerian striker

West Ham are ‘likely’ to move for a Tottenham Hotspur target, while Aston Villa are keeping a close eye on a Nigerian striker.
Euro 2024 has begun, and England won their opening match of the tournament yesterday night, defeating a tenacious Serbian team 1-0. But what is going on in the Premier League today?

West Ham United are ‘expected’ to ‘intensify’ their efforts to sign a striker who is also wanted by Tottenham Hotspur; meanwhile, Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are monitoring the contract situation of a Nigerian striker who was promoted to the Premier League at the end of last season. West Ham ‘anticipated’ to make a deal for Youssef En-Nesyri.

Aston Villa interested in signing Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho
West Ham United will ‘boost up’ their efforts to capture Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri in the summer transfer window, according to a recent report from The Hammers need a new striker for the 2024/25 season, as Michail Antonio and Danny Ings are both far past their prime. Jarrod Bowen played up front for much of the 2023/24 season, therefore recruiting a new striker is a priority for them. West Ham aren’t the only ones looking for En-Nesyri; Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham are also interested.

Aston Villa ‘keeping close tabs’ on Kelechi Iheanacho’s contract predicament at Leicester City
If Kelechi Iheanacho does not sign a new contract, his present one with Leicester City will expire in June. According to Football Insider, Aston Villa is keeping an eye on his contract situation and hopes to sign him on a free transfer, as they did with Youri Tielemans last season.

Iheanacho has rejected repeated contract offers from Leicester, and it appears that his time at the King Power Stadium is up. Villa hope he can replace Jhon Duran, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea.
