The Auburn football program had a busy recruiting weekend, hosting several recruits on campus for official visits, including 4-star safety Eric Winters, who committed to the Tigers during his visit. While some of the visitors were undecided or had promised to another program for the time being, others who had committed to the Tigers were on the Plains, and a handful chose to end their recruitment.
The first is Ryan Ghea, an Auburn football tight end commit. The 4-star prospect from Alpharetta, Georgia, picked this weekend for his official visit to help recruit the other visitors, which included former Auburn tight end commit Hollis Davidson. Following his visit, Ghea revealed on his personal Twitter that he was permanently signed with the Tigers. The second Auburn commit to end his recruitment was 3-star cornerback Dante Core of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Core paid a formal visit to school after committing last month, when he met with both players and coaches.
“My favorite part of the trip was most definitely hanging out with the players,” Core told Auburn Rivals. “I enjoy that it’s like a family. It’s like home.
“I’m away from home.” The Tigers also received approval from 4-star offensive tackle Carde Smith of Mobile, Alabama. Smith plans to visit USC next weekend and may also visit Mississippi State and Florida State, but he has assured Auburn Rivals that there will be no flipping from Auburn.
“It helps me see that I made the right decision to come to Auburn,” Smith stated.”There’s simply love around; you never have to worry about anything. They got your back. I’m locked. “There’s no switching.”
The Auburn football class of 2025 currently has 15 commits and is ranked sixth nationally.
