Portsmouth are in early talks with defender Conor Shaughnessy over a new deal at Fratton Park, Football Insider understands.
Portsmouth are eager to reward the 27-year-old with a new, improved contract before his current one ends in June 2025.

Conor Shaughnessy is set to sign a new contract following Portsmouth’s promotion.
Shaughnessy began his professional career with Leeds United after signing a deal at Elland Road in 2016.
Following loan spells with Hearts, Mansfield Town, and Burton, the Irishman signed a permanent agreement with Rochdale in January 2021, having made only 15 professional appearances for Leeds.
The centre-back signed with Burton in the summer of 2021 and appeared in 70 games until joining Portsmouth last year.
Shaughnessy was instrumental in his team’s progress to the Championship, starting all 45 games throughout the season.
Portsmouth are currently in advanced talks with the defender about an enhanced new contract before he enters the last year of his term at Fratton Park. John Mousinho’s team is attempting to put the pieces together as they prepare for their first season in the second tier in 12 years.
The Hampshire club made their first summer acquisition last week when Football Insider reported that they had won the fight to capture defender Jordan Williams.
