Scott Loach, a former goalkeeper for Bradford City, Rotherham United, and York City, has declared his retirement.
The 36-year-old played in all three EFL categories, including many periods in Yorkshire. In addition to representing the Bantams, Millers, and Minstermen, he had a trial with Leeds United in 2007.
Although he never made it into the Premier League, Loach was called up to the England side on several occasions. He was uncapped, however he did feature for the Three Lions at the under-21 level.
Later in his career, after dropping down the non-league pyramid, he was capped by England C. He was most recently an understudy at Derby County, but has decided to end his career. Loach stated on Instagram: “It was always my desire to be a professional player, and I’m one of the lucky ones who got to live that dream. I’m really lucky to have worked with some terrific players, played over 500 games for some fantastic clubs, and represented my nation.
“But those who know me will know I’ve found a passion in teaching, and I now believe it’s the best thing for my future and my family’s future to move away from playing. side, and attack the next chapter of my coaching career. “If anyone needs a 5-aside striker, please contact me; on a serious note, thank you, and don’t give up on your ambitions, because mine were worth everything.
