Jordan Williams has joined Portsmouth following his departure from Barnsley.
The 24-year-old is Pompey’s first signing of the summer, following their promotion from League One last season.
The right wing-back agreed to a three-year contract, committing his future to Fratton Park until summer 2027.
His departure will be a setback for the Tykes, who missed out on a second Championship appearance last year.
Williams left Barnsley at the end of his contract, leaving him free to go somewhere for nothing.

Andy Symcox, FLW’s Barnsley fan commentator, believes Williams is a Championship player.
He expects the defender to play on the right side, where he believes the man is most effective, having previously played centre-back at Oakwell.
“Jordan Williams signing for Portsmouth is a good move for both of them,” Symcox told Football League World.

Jordan Williams’ importance in Barnsley Williams started all but one league game for Barnsley last season, totaling more than 4,000 minutes of action.
He has been a crucial performer for the Tykes in League One, with six goals and ten assists in 89 appearances.
He has been at Barnsley since 2018 and was a regular in the Championship, making 72 games.
However, when the club was relegated to League One in 2022, Williams decided to end his contract in order to return to the Championship with Portsmouth. Williams’ acquisition is a positive start to the summer for Portsmouth.
Portsmouth needed to sign a right-back this summer after losing Joe Rafferty, and Williams is an excellent choice.
He is strong up front and will give a creative attacking threat from the right wing next season.
