Jordan Williams has joined Portsmouth following his departure from Barnsley.

The 24-year-old is Pompey’s first signing of the summer, following their promotion from League One last season.

The right wing-back agreed to a three-year contract, committing his future to Fratton Park until summer 2027.

His departure will be a setback for the Tykes, who missed out on a second Championship appearance last year.

Williams left Barnsley at the end of his contract, leaving him free to go somewhere for nothing.

Andy Symcox, FLW’s Barnsley fan commentator, believes Williams is a Championship player.
